Seth Bihun, professional tree climber, is the owner of Total Tree Care of Iowa City. An Iowa native, Seth has dedicated his life to working with trees. He has been climbing trees in the Midwest and East & West coastal areas since 1994 and has been trained in the most efficient and safest climbing techniques. After years of canopy research in the Willamette National Forest in Oregon and experience working as a professional climber in Vermont and Massachusetts, Seth returned to the Iowa City area in 2000 and worked as an expert climber for several local tree companies.
Total Tree Care of Iowa City was started as a small part-time business in the fall of 2005. Seth began his business as an independent contractor climbing trees and taking on small removals. The business has grown to a full-service tree company with multiple trained climbers, ground-crew employees, and certified arborists; a fleet of trucks and large equipment such as a 28-ton rear mount crane, an 83-foot Arbor Pro Lift, a 50-foot Nifty Lift, a 15-ton boom crane truck; and a professional mechanic and crane operator on staff. Total Tree Care of Iowa City continues to be family owned and operated. Our mission is to expand awareness of tree care in our community and work with residents to develop a healthy, beautiful and safe treescape.
